Hey, I'm Scott Mathson, and for years I had my nose to the grindstone in audio production and music - my passion for this led me into investing in equipment to open a small, residental recording studio in my hometown of Great Falls, MT for area musicians.
The studio was one of my first entrepreneurial endeavors. I started SMP during high school and ran it on into my college years, moving it into my dorm in Missoula, MT. I became a Disc Makers Studio Partner, referring clients to their services for CD & DVD manufacturing. I recorded for a variety of musicians and helped release and market their recordings, as well as recording some of my own original music, videos, and more.
During this time I also focused on podcast production, eventually starting and hosting a musician's interview and audio production advice show (since archived).
Here we are in 2024, and I'm back in audio production. Partnered with one of Montana's oldest studios, I'm excited to share my passion for music with others. Reach out to me via Soundbetter to discuss your project!

I have recorded with Scott a couple times and always found the experience rewarding. He was helpful in explaining to me exactly what he wanted in the song, and patient if I didn't get it right the first time around. He wasn't pushy or critical either, in fact just the opposite.
